2016 Survey highlights

Retirement Expectations of Mexican Immigrants

Article Divider Lines

In 2013 we conducted a first survey which provided insight into the difficult situation many Mexican immigrants will face in the future —regardless of the country in which they decide to retire. The findings uncovered a combination of false expectations regarding their Social Security benefits, the absence of retirement benefits granted by their employers and minimal personalsavings.

In 2016 Hispanic Wealth prepared this second survey on retirement expectations by analyzing the responses of 1,861 persons of Mexican origin. This report presents the highlights of this analysis.
